Workforce Preparedness Project

HIGHTS offers young adults aged 16-24 paid work experiences and support to earn industry and college credentials. Our goal is to increase access to opportunities in post-secondary education and employment. HIGHTS Workforce Preparedness Project offers paid work experiences in the following high-demand industries: Health Care, Automotive, Construction, and Technology.


Commitment and Support

We have successfully paired multiple participants with their prospective job preferences based on interests or educational experience. We offer career exploration for those who are undecided.

By offering support, we have increased access to allow participants to complete a post-secondary degree and/or credential(s).

At HIGHTS, our commitment is to ensure that participants and employers have a positive experience in partnering and becoming an asset in the regional workforce pipeline.

What We Offer to Participants

  • Work-based learning experiences

  • Post-secondary education and industry credentialing

  • Resume building and interview experience

  • Textbook assistance, mileage reimbursement, childcare coverage, and exam fees

  • Support in completing college applications, FAFSA, industry and academic credentials or degrees

  • Professional writing experience for resume building and networking with career mentors

  • Financial support toward participant education and work experience

  • 6-to-8-week paid internships
